What was that I could feel? (100 word story challenge)

One day I felt something ; which was so strange. I woke up at 7:24 to watch Match of the Day on sunday morning. I had had a dream about fighting against the Red Indians. When I lifted my foot out of the bed. I felt something on the floor, it felt like the gun which I had in the dream. But in the dream I couldn’t feel the gun so it was different. I could feel  a very cold surface, it was smooth, there were some dents. I picked it up, walked to the light, switched it on…………..gone.

One day George woke up.  He had just had a nightmare: a freaky one. George pushed himself out of his bed, crept to the door, tiptoed downstairs, pounced on the sofa and looked for the remote. But everything had vanished – everything except the sofa.  George was terrified; he jumped up ran to his mum’s room but on the way something brushed against his leg. What was that he could feel? He decided to stay downstairs and look around.  While he was looking, he swore he saw something move.  Then George fell dead on the floor with a thud.

What was that I could feel? It was tarmac black.  I was under my covers … very scared! It was squishy and lumpy. I was too frightened to look. I thought I shouldn’t get up and go to mum; I also felt like screaming, but I knew I shouldn’t. What if it was a monster? I could die any second now. What if the same thing was happening in my sisters bedroom? What if it really was a real monster or even worse, a ghost. I put my hand on the light switch and held my breath…

My rocket raced towards space. I was to be the first person to land on Mars. My space communicator came alive, the Controller looking grave… “Someone sabotaged your engine,” he warned me. ”We think you’re going to land on Neptune.” Oh no, my engine groaned, making the rocket shudder.

I was going down; my rocket breaking up! First the engine stalled, then the electrics died. CRASH! Everything went black…What was that I could feel – a slimy slithering feeling?  “Where am I?” I said aloud. ”Doop doop,” an alien noise burbled from the corner of the room.

What was that I could feel? I was fiddling in my parents room one night, looking for my ipod that had been confiscated. I reached my hand in a box….it felt like a velvety type box but inside……. It felt rigid…. and prickly also irregular! It was comforting in a way.  It felt rocky..yes! but what type of rock? It could be a shell or a pearl.  Could I be imaging this? I pulled my hand out of the box it was a crystal! A beautiful crystal shining in my hand.

The Doll

What was that I could feel? It felt smooth and circular in one place and then rough and irregular in another. It was an odd key! It was old and rusty. I went to the next box; it was locked. I slid the key into the lock… It fitted! Inside was a doll with a pink dress that had roses on it. That night it came alive! We stayed up and played all night long but finally we got tired. So we went to sleep. When morning came I rushed over to her, but… she was a plain doll again.

I put my hand into the box and drew in a breath.  Something felt my hand; it was cold like frozen peas and rough like bark from an old tree. What was that I could feel?I closed my hand ,drew it out and peered at in the darkness. It was a key – to what? Maybe the cellar door. I put the key in the lock.  It moved creakily but it turned! The room was full of discarded treasures there was a sapphire glittering brightly. An old greek pot engraved with pictures of men fighting and ladies sewing.
